Christmas Morning!

Santa's big gift for Will was a 3DS.  Its all he wanted for Christmas no matter when we asked him.  A Blue DS.  He was beyond ecstatic when he found it hidden behind the tree and played and played that thing for days to come until we finally intervened to severely limit time on the DS.

The girls got their first set of Disney princess dolls and baby dolls.  Ever since then, with growing enthusiasm, my girls have become completely wrapped up in every thing princess to the extent that Catie proclaimed her name was "Catie Ariel" and Carter proclaimed her's to be "Carter Tiana."  Carter has slowly moved from Princess and the Frog being her favorite to being a big fan of Cinderella, but Catie's love for the Little Mermaid runs very very strong.

I am happy to say that my family's tradition continues to run strong in our's even in the new house.  As a little girl, Steve and I always had to wait on the stairs until Mom & Dad told us everything was ready -- that remained true actually until I had kids of my own.  Now I relish doing it to our kids.  I was worried they might make it down before I woke up because in the new house our room is downstairs, but I got up at the crack of dawn to start making fresh cinnamon rolls and getting things together.  I love the anticipation this tradition builds!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve highlights: Candlelight service at church, Christmas dinner at our house with Bapa & Grandma (when I attempted to make osso bucco), reading Night Before Christmas and leaving a note for Santa, and another late night of assembly and gift moving by "Santa's Elves."

First Santa note written by Will!

Time to get back at it!

I have been unbelievably failing at keeping up with this blog.  I think there only like 4 people that follow it anymore, but it was always my intention to keep up with the blog as my "baby book" for the kids.  So for my precious, sweet children - I am going to make every effort to catch up here and keep better with updates.  Its going to be tricky though - a lot has happened in just 5 months since my last post.  Will turned 6, he had a big birthday party, we went to Disney World, the girls became potty trained and moved to big girl beds, the girls turned 3 and had their first real birthday party, Will had his first sleepover ... not to mention just all of the crazy, endearing, awesome (and crazy, mind-numbing not-so-awesome) things my kids have been up to!!

So without further ado --- lets see what I can do!
