A Rainy Day

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right?  After a long, on-and-off rainy day today, we had one of those spur-of-the-moment, crazy ideas that created some of those wonderful memories with kids that make you just smile from ear to ear as a parent.

You kids want to get out of the house and run in the rain?  Well why the hell not!?

I love this one because Catie and Carter are running in the exact same position.

Yes, he is in pajamas.  The kid is obsessed with pajamas and wants to wear them all day and some days...well, you just have to give in.

I knew kids loved to run in the rain and splash in puddles, but wow.  For 10 minutes we had a huge downpour with no wind or thunderstorm.  For those 10 minutes, Carter squealed in delight, Catie ran and smiled, and Will ran like a firecracker yelling about how awesome it was to run in the rain and jump in puddles!

After the rain started to really come down, Carter sought safety in the garage with her parents...

...until she ventured out for a moment and seemed to say to herself "What the heck am I doing out here!?" and ran back in the garage.

She came back out when the rain tapered off a bit.  But Catie had been soaking (literally) ever moment of the downpour with her brother.

Such a great end to such a gray day.
