Starting a New Year

Hi!  Its me!  Its been too long since I last blogged.  Disney seems like years ago, and I haven't posted pictures. We've had Christmas excitement, Will's wishes for Santa, Will's 4th birthday, a doctor well visit for Will (holy crap that was a lot of shots!) and 9-month well visits for the girls, Carter crawling, Catie laughing like a crazy person ... so much to share and so many things to remember and capture.   Its my goal to catch-up on all of this on the blog over the next few days.
But 2010 was a crazy year for us.  Full of incredible highs but also lots of incredible lows.  Its been difficult to balance the stress of my job (which got more stressful than it has ever been since I started working there 7 years ago) with the responsiblity and desire to be with all of our children.  Its been difficult figuring out how we take care of our children, find out the best care for them while we are at work, and how to make sure that we still sane and have time for each other.  Fighting hospital visits and broken arms, one of the girls being sick and then the other being sick and then they switch again, Ellis's mom having a stroke right after the girls were discharged from the NICU ... Frankly, its just too hard to even explain what this year has been like.

And the hardest part happened after we returned from Disney.  We lost our dearest Nanny (Ellis's mom) on December 30th after learning just a few weeks ago that she had lung cancer.  We are so very very thankful that she was with us for Christmas and that she had enough strength to sit-up and visit with us, play a little with the girls and see Will.  We are also thankful that she is no longer in pain and that she did not have to suffer long from the illness.  But we do miss her and sometimes it is hard to believe she is gone.

Ellis and I are moving forward with 2011, and my resolution is to find peace and happiness each day that I can.  To stop complaining and to start taking more notice of the wonderful life that we do have.  I am so thankful that we have 3 healthy, wonderful children who can make me laugh even at the hardest of times.  So here's to 2011 and the new year!  And happy posts and pictures to come soon!
